When you sleep under a quilt, you sleep under a blanket of love

The Quilt Top

It's nearly impossible to get a photo of the complete top when it's on a bed.

Melissa used blocks that my mother had finished. There are other finished blocks that she will sew into a similar quilt top for herself, but she will also need to make some additional blocks for hers. For those she will use some of the yardage that my mother intended to use as the backing, plus other fabrics that were in the box, and fabrics she will purchase for this project. Hers will have the same black around the blocks.

Do you see the white and red block at the foot of the bed? In the fourth row up is another block with the same fabrics, but in opposite places. Right above that one is a pink and black block that is the opposite of the black and pink one in the second row. In the bottom right corner is a pink and brown block; both fabrics are similar florals. The corresponding opposite block is on the far side of the bed where you can't see it in this photo. I'm wondering which ones Melissa will have in her quilt that correspond to blocks in my quilt; it will be fun to take a look when both quilts are finished.

I hope Melissa will make her new blocks in the same way.
